The Tropical Wetlands group at the University of St. Andrews are core members of the UK TPWG.  Have a look at their website here.

They work closely with the Instituto de Investigaciones de la Amazonia Peruana, who are doing great work exploring the vast peat areas in the Peruvian Amazon that we know so little about.

The University of Edinburgh‘s School of GeoSciences is a partner to the UK TPWG. In particular it has expertise in mapping peatlands using remote sensing, and quantifying emissions from wetlands due to land use change across the tropics. Researchers affiliated to the TPWG are based in the Edinburgh Ecology cluster.

Several members of the UK TPWG are also part of the Ecology and Global Change research cluster at Leeds University.

Researchers from the Universities of Nottingham and Leicester have been working in tropical peatlands for more than a decade and have hosted the UK TPWG meetings.
